Poor Duke! And thank goodness Becky had you covered!
FWIW even with our small dog collection I think we’ve hit every holiday on the calendar with various doggie disasters… broken teeth, Rogan slamming his leg into a pipe corner of the kennel, seeds stuck way back behind the eyeball, and one notable Thanksgiving when we think Dulcie quarreled with a black widow (her nose swelled up like a football and she had hives breaking out all over her head).
