Jessica went to the doctor after work yesterday for a checkup. She said it was probably the shortest amount of time that she’s ever spent in a doctors office. She heard the heartbeat for all of three seconds, he asked her for a few questions, and they sent her on her way. She needs [...] Presented in chronological order January 10 – 2011 Jessica called me this morning. The first words out of her mouth “I’m pregnant.” Woah! That is one hell of a way to start a morning. We talked for a bit and I assured her that I was excited. In fact, I’ve had a hard time not smiling all day long. I am so happy about this. It’s going to be a bumpy nine months but I can’t wait for it. She told her best friend, Cassy, the good news and is holding off on telling more people the news until she gets official word from the doc. Life as we know it is definitely going to be different. It’s been a hectic year and a weekend in the middle of a three month stretch really helps to break up the “unpleasantness” of being apart. As I mentioned, she flew in Friday afternoon and I was hoping to meet her [...] We took some video last year of the NWSDA race at Camp K. Jessica had a few hours this morning and I walked her through video editing. She took all of the video reduced it to less than two minutes. As she learned, most of the video recorded is crap and can be deleted. [...] Not all of us are morning people. Morning people are those who wake up and all is right with the world. The rest of us need a catalyst to make our day move along smoothly. Jessica is a huge fan of coffee while I need a hot shower to get me going. I knew that we still had some holes in our lineup that would cause problems throughout the season.
