This is going to be a taxing weekend. I get out of work early to eat dinner with Jessica’s family (who recently joked that I might as well call them in-laws – you can draw whatever conclusion you wish from that remark) prior to her graduation ceremony from Bates (technical school) where she is [...] We traded dogs – yet again. We thought that Violet was going to be happy out here but it turns out that she only thrives when living in the pack. We packed the two dogs in the car the other day and took them down to her parents house while we were at Kayla’s [...] Last weekend was a very busy one for my family and I. We spent all day Saturday moving mine and John’s stuff into our new house. As it happens on move in days, it rained most of the time. It wasn’t too bad though. John and I had wrapped up the stuff from his [...] Well, this past Tuesday I celebrated my 21st birthday in the original City of Sin, Las Vegas Nevada. It was awesome. We left for the air port on Tuesday morning about 5 a.m. We hoped on a plane and landed about 10:15 a.m. After getting our baggage, my parents paid for a limo [...] The media loves to sensationalize every single thing that might cut your life short at a moments notice. Over the past few years they’ve run the entire gamut. Off the top of my head there is MSRA (staph infection), bird flu, West Nile virus, terrorism, (normal) flu, Africanized bees, pit bulls, overgrown snakes, and [...] Conversation topics can be far ranging when working with a diverse group of people that are brought to one location from across the globe. A few days ago, we discussed how parents are discouraged from using physical means to keep their children in line. The days when you can spank your OWN child for acting a fool might be behind us if we don’t do something to turn the tide. There was a proposal in a California city (of all places) to punish parents who spank their children. One person spoke of a time when her child was acting a fool – she swatted him once on the behind to keep him in line. Family members present at the incident chastised the individual and claimed that it was abuse. Another individual spoke about children carrying on in public places with exasperated parents doing nothing to quell the noise. It has been brought to my attention that my readers were growing old of my once in a while posts and need more of me. Well, who doesn’t want more of me? I’m fabulous. Anyway, the reason I have been lack on the writing is that there is not much going on in my [...] This Thanksgiving was the first Thanksgiving in two years that I have been able to spend with my family.
