I’ve uploaded some photos to Facebook. Some of you don’t have an account and others are random strangers that browse my website (and thus aren’t on my friends list). Click Here to view em.

Changes to the place
For years I’ve hosted my own gallery on this server but it’s grown too large for the software that serves the pages. It took me a few hours to dig through all of the previous posts and remove any erroneous links but I’ve done so. I still have a gallery but I’ve moved it to a Google hosted service – Picasa.
The software at their site is far superior and has all sorts of neat goodies – geo-tags, facial recognition and tagging, and mobile support. Feel free to check out some of my favorite photos at my Picasa gallery.
Jessica had a few photos hosted at the gallery and they are gone. She will need to fix her blog at some point to fix the errors.

Sure is foggy up here… oh wait… those are clouds
A few weeks ago Jessica and I woke up early and headed south to Mt St Helens with a 10 mile trail in our sights. She promptly fell asleep in the car as I drove south. We knew that the skies were cloudy and the forecast didn’t look that great but we were hoping that the skies were clear. They didn’t.

We drove through the clouds to visitors center and got a few photos through breaks in the fog. When we reached the visitors center we parked the car and walked over to the park map. We looked into the distance and saw a herd of elk – nobody was around for miles so we spent 10 minutes watching them and listening to them call back and forth to each other. It was pretty damn cool – the pictures really don’t it justice because they were a good quarter mile away and the camera had problems picking up the light.admin edit – photo removed
Jessica recorded a few videos which you can see below. Make sure you turn the volume up so you can hear them calling.
Hopefully, when we return the clouds will be gone and I’ll actually be able to see the mountain. If you want to check out the rest of the pictures you can find them in the gallery. -
Only a few
My parents were out last week and I took a bunch of photos. Rather than filling the gallery with a bunch of photos that will never be viewed I decided to share only my favorites. You can still check out the full sized versions in the gallery by clicking on the pop up icon (to the right of the camera icon). In no particular order of preference, here are the best photos from the week. You’ll notice that these are devoid of people because I’ve never been great at capturing natural expressions in good lighting. I may get one but I’ll seldom get two.
admin edit – photo removedI took 8-9 versions of this shot and thought that this was the best out of all of them. If you look at the full version you’ll see some jaggies throughout the image. What I wouldn’t do for a DSLR. You won’t be able to see any of the artifacts at this resolution you see on your screen.

I wish this were taken in the wild (it would have been really cool), unfortunately, it was taken in an animal park. It was still quite cool to see this animal roaming “free.”admin edit – photo removed
I took 7-8 shots of this eagle but found that my camera had a hard time dealing with the low light and gave me a bunch of noise. I ran this photo through a noise filter a few times resulting in this highly stylized photo. I like the outcome. -
Remember, when you vote for McCain you also vote for this
Sarah Palin has only been under intense public scrutiny for a few days and boy oh boy she’s a goldmine of fun. First off, she is an advocate of abstinence ONLY education. Young adults are going to get into trouble and have sex. In an environment where abstinence is the only option and owning a condom would result in severe punishment, they will often use no protection at all. When this happens children are bound to follow. Don’t believe me? Lets take a look at her pregnant teenage daughter – or the already born offspring of her other daughter. Her 17 year old daughter is a fan of the sauce – Great huh?
She’s also a gun advocate – good for her – creepy for America.

Remember, if John McCain dies, she gets to run the country. I like John McCain but I really don’t like his VP choice.

It’s too strange
The following website is too strange not to share – so – here you go.

Sexy People is a collection of some truly horrendous photos of people trying to look decent. Get your fix of professionally photographed mullets, people that inhabit bus stops, and those that shouldn’t be allowed to breed. This site, despite the moniker, is completely safe for work. -
We only call it camping because we sleep in a tent
Jessica and I joined Jeff and Leanne at a campground near Ocean Shores, WA for a few days of camping and relaxation. The weather didn’t completely cooperate with us as we spent much of the time huddling around the campfire shivering but at least we didn’t have to deal with any rain. The camping trip had the added benefit of being miles away from the airshow at McChord. Even if we didn’t watch the airshow we would have been unable to avoid the crowds in the local area – the turnstiles recorded 340k attendees – yikes!
We spent a little time out at the beach and out on the jetties – Jessica saw a porpoise in the distance and was excited -

Here’s a few more photos from the weekend

All in all it was a good trip – the worst part was our sub-par air mattress that is still extracting revenge on my shoulders and neck.

Photos from the weekend
I mentioned that we were going to be busy as heck this weekend and I was lucky enough to have enough time to upload a few photos. I’m not in either photo – mainly because I feel that even though I look fantastic I am extremely unphotogenic. Jessica is looking fantastic in each of the photos below – the first is at her graduation with Rachel and the second is at Jenny’s wedding (as if you couldn’t figure it out from the attire).
