Last Thursday I went under the laser and got my vision corrected. Most people that get corrective surgery get LASIK and notice immediate results. Due to the thickness of my cornea and the military’s restrictions on LASIK I got PRK, a surgery that requires much longer recovery times. At the moment, I am sitting [...] I’m in the military and I tend to not think about what I give up. I go to the desert. I put myself in harms way. I work in an inherently hazardous job. People would like to kill me for who I am and what I do. I work odd and long hours. I [...] Jessica and I joined Jeff and Leanne at a campground near Ocean Shores, WA for a few days of camping and relaxation. The weather didn’t completely cooperate with us as we spent much of the time huddling around the campfire shivering but at least we didn’t have to deal with any rain. The camping [...] I have not posted in quite a while, for I have been wreck for the last month. I am trying to get about 3 quarters worth of stuff done in half of one. It’s been crazy. I have been spending many night with only 3 hours of sleep and a lot of time studying. [...] The dang dog got out again – he broke out of the kennel without too much difficulty. We have had quite a hard time trying to keep him contained in the back yard. We reinforced part of the kennel by placing a piece of fence over the top in an effort to prevent him [...] I’m mere hours away from a respite away from work and away from responsibility. I don’t mind work, in fact, I actually like what I do but I really enjoy my time away from the office. Weekends and leave fantastic because they are generally unstructured. We always have something happening but there is so [...] These past few weeks have been pretty stressful for me. I have had this looming stress of my pending graduation. And it 1.5 hours it was over. I still have one month of school left, but it’s not much. I am pretty much just waiting for my mouse cells to grow. My best friend [...] I mentioned that we were going to be busy as heck this weekend and I was lucky enough to have enough time to upload a few photos. I’m not in either photo – mainly because I feel that even though I look fantastic I am extremely unphotogenic. Jessica is looking fantastic in each of [...] This is going to be a taxing weekend. I get out of work early to eat dinner with Jessica’s family (who recently joked that I might as well call them in-laws – you can draw whatever conclusion you wish from that remark) prior to her graduation ceremony from Bates (technical school) where she is [...] In Iraq I really only knew a few things to be true – I knew that it was going to be hot during the day and I also knew that it was going to be dark and noisy at night. .
